20 oktober 2011 presenteerde Lori Weitzner haar nieuwe stoffencollectie bij Co van der Horst in Amstelveen. De in New York werkzame top designer was speciaal naar Amstelveen gekomen om samen met Sahco haar nieuwe collectie Botanic te presenteren. Daarnaast vertelde ze over haar werkwijze en bron van inspiratie.

Haar handschrift laat zich omschrijven als internationaal en elegant. De natuur is een grote bron van inspiratie. Een groot moodboard in haar studio in New York vormt de basis van haar ontwerpen. Hierop verzamelt zij alles wat ze op haar reizen tegenkomt.

I am honored to have been invited to such a beautifull shop as this. Actually, it is not really a “shop”, but a “culture”! This culture is so inspiring because it is all about the belief that DESIGN is so important, so relevant and precious. This place inspires me because it’s aproach is completely “wholistic”, and how design should be treated. Believe it or not, New York City has no place quite like this, with the choices, the service and most importantly the thoughtfulness. It is felt as soon as one walks in the door.

I am sad te leave Amsterdam. It is a wonderful place with lots to discover and should be discovered slowly. But, typically American, I have to come and go much too quickly. I am comming back….!!!!
