MARCEL WANDERS AND CO VAN DER HORST
In 1999, Marcel Wanders made a design for the Co Lunch Lounge. It has since been acknowledged as Wanders’ very first interior design. The lounge was furnished with some of his own work, combined with work by other designers. The toilets stood out the most: he placed three toilet bowls in a row in an open area. The design earned him an honourable nomination for the best toilet design of 2000, organised by chief government architect Wytze Patijn.
To mark the 100th anniversary of Co van der Horst in 2005, Wanders designed the new company logo and house style.
A lot of Wanders’ designs are naturally included in the Co van der Horst collection.
